Hurricane Sandy Evacuation ordered for many East Village residents

The City of New York has ordered a mandatory evacuation of Zone A flood zone areas, which includes much of the East River area.  Storm surges may possibly breach retaining walls along the FDR and spill into some neighborhoods.
